What Do We Do?
Know Your Neighbourhood is Goodwin’s community engagement project, designed in collaboration with residents to meet the needs and aspirations of our community.
Its purpose is to help create healthier, more vibrant, and more connected neighbourhoods, with residents playing an active role through volunteering.
We work to tackle isolation and loneliness by offering a wide range of activities, including arts and crafts, cooking groups, and language and life skills classes suitable for all ages.
We also provide activities that encourage more active, positive, and healthier lifestyles, such as sports socials, walking groups, gardening, and keep-fit classes.

Get Moving with Goodwin
Goodwin Development Trust in Hull is passionate about the power of sport and movement to strengthen communities and improve wellbeing. We believe that being active goes beyond physical health it creates opportunities for social connection, confidence building, and lifelong skills. Our sports offer spans all ages, from dynamic sessions for young people at our Turf Youth Centre, where they can explore and try new sports, to community activities that combine fitness with social engagement, such as darts and pool.
We also support mums-to-be with tailored fitness sessions at our children’s centres, and champion holistic movement through initiatives like our community allotments and Villa Gardens, giving residents access to green spaces for relaxation and exploration.
With support from Sport England’s Movement Fund and the National Lottery Million Hours Fund, we continue to grow and innovate our sports provision, ensuring everyone has the chance to move, connect, and thrive.
