The Danny’s Dream Club is based in a Pod within a larger building owned by the Goodwin Development Trust. The building houses activity spaces and a well-equipped sensory room.

Our club facility is available for the use of our service users who have this as an assessed need. This has a main club room, a sensory room and a quiet room to suit everybody’s moods and needs. There is a kitchen facility for refreshments and a laundry facility for day-to-day use. Service users can listen to music, watch films, enjoy sensory equipment and make use of our games, jigsaws and art and craft resources with their PA’s. Our club environment includes changing spaces to meet our service users personal care needs, shower facilities and hoisting equipment is available to ensure that we can meet the moving and handling needs of our service users.

The building is based in a community setting with local shops and recreational areas within close proximity. The base is located close to the city centre and allows for the use of public transport if desired.

A car park to the rear of the property has disabled parking spaces and adequate drop off areas for service users as required. The Danny’s Dream Club has a designated space in the building and easy access and entry for disabled service users.

We also have a community garden which is accessible and available to engage in outdoor activities.

The designated Club base has been adapted to meet Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) standards. Within the setting we designated changing spaces to meet service users personal care requirements, one of the spaces also has a wet room and offer hoisting equipment for use by non-weight bearing service users in line with their specific moving and handling plans.

We aim to provide a safe place for individuals to be supported with personal care, using designated changing spaces to meet service users personal care requirements.  One of the spaces also has a wet room and offer hoisting equipment for use by non-weight bearing service users in line with their specific moving and handling plans.

We also have a safe environment to support with a range of medications administration including administration by specialist technique via PEG/JEJ and emergency medications administration if required.

We aim to provide this in a safe, private and dignified manner, whilst in conjunction with the individuals needs and requirements. We also promote independence as much as possible.

Danny’s Dream offers a personal assistant service which supports service users to be supported in their home, and the community to engage in meaningful activities. We aim to enable service users to live their lives in a safe and inclusive environment and as independently as possible. Our service is for adults who have profound, complex and multiple physical and learning disabilities and require a one-to-one Personal Assistant to help them with daily tasks, social support and accessing the community.
