1999 – An Ambitious dream

Danny has to leave full time education and a vision for an integrated day/evening centre with respite facilities is dreamed up

2001 – a hope for the future

Mary (Mum) writes ‘a hope for the future’ and shows it to Daniels consultant neurologist. It’s described as absolutely what is needed in Hull. It included everything from gardens to crafts and equipment.

2002- Danny’s Dream is born

Following a meeting at Endsleigh centre with representatives from both mainstream and special schools, disability services, Hull City Council, amongst others, Danny’s Dream is born.

2005 – Diana Johnson (MP) becomes patron

2006 – Personal assistant service set up

One of the key elements of Danny’s Dream – a service to help users who have a sense of everyday life. Be that popping out for a coke at the pub or making spaghetti

2010 – Danny sadly passes away

2010 – Merge with Goodwin development trust.

2012 – First home

The dream of the club finally comes to life on Walker Street

2013 – Rated good in our first inspection

2017 – Work begins with Artlink and this relationship continues to this day.

2018 – Rated outstanding in our CQC inspection

2019 – COVID 19

Impacts the service, and the day service must close

2021- New Club

During this time we move to the new club in the Octagon, across the street from our previous club!

2023 – Mask come off

After many years dealing with COVID 19 and PPE in use throughout, masks and PPE finally come off in August 2023.
