Goodwin Nurseries and Children’s Centres aim to improve the health, well-being, learning & development of families with young children before and after birth; ensuring children are ready to flourish when they reach school age by working with parents and carers to improve children’s life chances.  

 

Due to a change in the Goodwin Nursery structure, we are looking to appoint a passionate Nursery Manager to lead and develop the team at Fenchurch Nursery. You will continue to provide a nurturing environment to meet the needs of all the children 3 months – 4 years in our care, providing the highest standards in a safe and secure environment.  

 

The successful candidate will have a robust knowledge of the EYFS & Statutory framework and build on best practice through a leadership approach to support learning and development across Goodwin Nurseries. 

 

The Nursery Manager will have, strong communication and interpersonal skills to work productively with children, colleagues, parents and partner agencies.  

 

You must hold a minimum of level 4 (or above) qualification in Early Years   

 

You will manage budget and to ensure staff and resources are deployed effectively to maximise cost benefit without impacting on the quality of the provision.

FareShare Assistant Operations Manager-£24000.00 pro rata -Part time

Assistant Operations Manager (Job Ref AOP01)  

Hours: 24 hours per week 

This role may include some evenings and weekends. 

Salary: £20 000 pro rata 

This role is fixed term to cover Maternity 

 

FareShare is a national charity fighting food poverty by tackling surplus food. We source food that is surplus to requirements – from food retailers and manufacturers – and engage many volunteers to help redistribute this to local charities and community groups that provide meals to vulnerable people. FareShare Hull and Humber is one of 20 warehouse/depots around the UK and is delivered by Goodwin Development Trust under a social franchise that supports over 180 local groups – our Community Food Members – across the Humber sub-region. 

 

Your primary responsibilities will be support operations and ensure the ongoing success of FareShare Hull and Humber by supporting the Operations Manager in holding day to day responsibility for operations staff and volunteers. Working with the Hull and Humber Development Manager to develop new operational/logistic activity and lead on implementation. 

 

  • Be the first point of contact for CFMs regarding queries. 
  • Have an oversight of the invoicing process and liaise with the Goodwin Finance Department regularly regarding debtors/invoice queries. 
  • Be responsible for the Health & Safety and security of the project, including warehouse, vehicles, staff and volunteers. 
  • To carry out and update risk assessments as defined by the FareShare operating manual and ensure risk assessments for all new activities are in place. 
  • Supervise the warehouse staff on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities. 
  • Support the office manager with either CFM queries or administration at peak times 

 

 

The ideal candidate must have a flexible “can do” attitude. The successful candidate will have experience of working on their own initiative, be able to manage their own workload and prioritise tasks to meet objectives. Experience of working within a food distribution and/or warehousing operation would be an advantage but is not essential.

Your primary responsibilities will be to support on the delivery high quality childcare and education for children 2-4 years old within Octagon nursery with possibly some sessions at the Fenchurch nursery. In addition, you will be expected to carry out a range of duties including supporting the full nursery team (including students and volunteers), working with the children’s centre team and working closely with children and their families. A minimum relevant Level 2 qualification is required along with a working knowledge of the revised EYFS and you should be committed to providing high quality play and learning opportunities and working in partnership with parents and carers.

Youth Teaching & Training Volunteer

Are you interested in gaining skills and experience in the world of teaching, learning, and pastoral work? Do you have some free time to volunteer?

We are looking for people with a keen interest in youth work and community development with a passion for helping others. You will be working as part of our Family Futures team to help people in the local community get back into education, training, and employment. We need people who are reliable and punctual, who can attend sessions they have agreed to. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team as well as work on their own initiative are required.
