Receptionist / Administrator (Job Ref:FA01)

29 hours per week

Equivalent to National Minimum Wage / National Living Wage

This role is term time only

 

You will be an integral part of the Fenchurch Nursery team, providing a first class administration support service to the management team and wider nursery.  Duties include meet and greet, operating a busy telephone system, composing letters, accurate recording of information on databases, filing, raising purchase and sale orders and all other general office administrative duties.

 

This role would suit an enthusiastic, hardworking individual with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work in a busy environment.  You should be a self-starter, who uses their own initiative and plans effectively. The role will require you to engage with children, parents and other service users, therefore good customer service skills are essential.  You should hold a minimum Level 2 relevant Business Admin qualification with demonstrable previous experience.  You must also be willing to undertake further training, which will be provided, including Safeguarding Children and First Aid.  You must have strong Microsoft Office skills.  Previous experience in an early years setting would be an advantage, but not essential.

The main purpose of this post is to assist people with disabilities and/or complex health and social care needs to live at home with independence by ensuring that they have quality care and support. This may involve undertaking personal care, and/or administering medication and/or escorting, and/or arranging and joining in activities. You will be required to provide service users with an effective duty of care that provides a safe and dignified environment that demonstrates an appropriate level of choice and control. You will be required to work with the Management Team to ensure that Care Quality Commission Essential Standards of Quality and Safety are upheld and that respect is given to the cultural and social values and beliefs of individual service users. You will ideally hold a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and demonstrable experience of working in the health and social care setting and have working knowledge of safeguarding protocols and procedures along with an understanding of confidentiality and data protection in respect of service user records.

Volunteering Opportunity – Psychotherapy/Counselling

Are you interested in gaining skills and experience in Psychotherapy or Counselling and have some free time to volunteer?

We are looking for people with a keen interest in Psychotherapy or Counselling, (specifically working with refugees an asylum seekers) and a willingness to take on a caseload of individual short and long term therapy clients within Haven at Marvell House Children Centre, Hull.

We need people who are reliable and punctual, who can attend sessions they have agreed to. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team as well as work on their own initiative are required.

Childcare Support Team (Supply) – REF: CST001

We are now looking to recruit professional & confident individuals into our Childcare Support Teams within our Octagon and Fenchurch Street Nurseries:

 

Childcare Support Team (Supply) – REF:  CST001 (Salary meets National Minimum Wage)

You will be working as part of the team based at Octagon or Fenchurch Street Children’s Centres. Your primary responsibilities will be to deliver high quality childcare and education for children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years. In addition you will be expected to carry out a range of duties including supporting the full nursery team (including students and volunteers), working with the Children’s Centre team and working closely with children and their families. Experience of supporting families within a childcare setting is desirable but consideration will be given to newly qualified persons. A working knowledge of the EYFS is essential and you should be committed to providing high quality play and learning opportunities and working in partnership with parents and carers.

 

Hours will be offered on an adhoc basis to provide additional cover within any of the Children’s Centres as and when required.  There are opportunities to apply for temporary / permanent contracts throughout the year.  These opportunities are usually advertised internally and members of the Childcare Support Team are encouraged to apply.

We are looking for suitable Supply team members who can demonstrate the ability to work under pressure to our high standards.  Supply means working ‘ad hoc’ hours as and when required.  We are looking for candidates with a flexible ‘can do’ approach and who have the drive and determination to succeed.

The successful applicant will assist the catering team with the professional organisation and delivery of catering requirements for the Goodwin Cafe and/or the Octagon Conference & Catering Facilities, including food preparation in accordance with agreed cafe / buffet menus and delivering excellent food service to customers while ensuring that health and safety and food hygiene rules and regulations are adhered to at all times.

You will hold a relevant catering qualification in City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent and have a Certificate in Food Hygiene. Significant experience in food preparation/delivery in hospitality/catering requirements, as well as knowledge of all Health & Safety and Food Hygiene is essential. The post holder will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work with minimum supervision and be willing to undertake additional training as required.
