FANTASTIC! That’s how Archbishop Sentamu chose to describe Goodwin & FareShare Hull & Humber’s fight against food poverty in the region. On his visit to FareShare’s Malmo Road depot the Archbishop spent time with FareShare volunteers and staff which ensured he got a frontline understanding of the scale of food poverty in our region. He heaped praise on the Trust’s efforts: “FareShare is about tackling poverty and overcoming food waste. It is fantastic that this is going to people in great need. The community using this speak very highly of what they are doing and this is going to people who are really in poverty. It is wonderful.” Both BBC Radio and the Hull Daily Mail were on hand to record his visit and get his views on the issue of food poverty – and you can read more about the Archbishop’s visit here: http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Archbishop-York-John-Sentamu-visits-fantastic/story-21107354-detail/story.html To find out more about FareShare and how it could work for you, please visit: faresharehullhumber.org or telephone 01482 337999.
